Indoor BBQ

Most of the indoor bbqs work on electricity and are comfortable for the apartment dwellers as conventional barbeques are not ideal for the indoor usage. Conventional bbqs work on charcoal and gas that produce considerable amount of carbon monoxide. Maintaining indoor bbq is very simple and keeps the surroundings pleasant.

You can get a large number of models with different features in the market. The leading manufactures of indoor bbqs are DeLonghi, Sanyo, Slaton, Hamilton and Cuisinart.

Indoor barbeques (bbq) are mainly of two types.

Open grill bbq: It looks like an outdoor bbq. Indoor bbqs are mostly operated on electricity bbqs. They contain an electric heating element and a cooking surface with grills. The cooking experience is more authentic and heat spreads evenly. The flavor of this food is also close to that of a conventional barbeque.

Folding grill bbq: These are also called double sided bbq that works like a sandwich maker. The top and bottom of this bbq consist of heating elements. The food is kept in the bottom part and top part is folded so that the cooking can be done from the both sides in less time. This indoor bbq can also be kept open like that of an open bbq. Opening of these bbqs are allowed up to 180 degrees so that it works like an open grill bbq. This model has been popular in European countries for a few decades.

Features of the electric bbqs

  • There are temperature-controlling buttons that allow cooking in different temperatures. This feature is very important as different food items require different temperature to cook

  • Timer options allow you to set a specific time to cook and the timer puts off the power automatically according to the time set.

One should be careful while cooking on indoor bbq. A fire extinguisher should be kept in the kitchen. It is suggestible to install your indoor bbq near the window of the kitchen. You can grill anything that you normally grill on the outdoor bbq. Often indoor bbq does not have the liquid drains to allow the marinated food items like meat to drain before cooking on the bbq so that you can avoid the liquids running along the counter. Leave the food to grill aside to drain the marinated liquids before shifting them to indoor bbq for cooking.

Pans used in indoor electric bbq are made water proof so that fat melted during grill can be easily removed to cook healthy food. Indoor bbqs are required to be kept near a window or outlet. The smoke generated by burning the food should go out easily through such exits. The smoke generated is directly proportional to the fat content in the food. It is always better to grill less fat food on indoor grills. It not generates less smoke but also suggestible keeping your health in view.
